Education is essentially the essence of life for all human beings in this world. Without it, we would be mindless creatures walking this earth without any hope of evolving. Therefore, as a future English teacher, I want to become a tool of knowledge that will help students reach a level of cognition that will shape the world into a better place. My role as a teacher is to open my student’s eyes to a world of knowledge and appreciation of the literature and art that has evolved our society for millennia. English focuses on three major factors that drive us, for it is how we learn and communicate. My responsibility is to guarantee that my students can read, speak, and write in the English language, to a level in which they can present themselves professionally by teaching them vocabulary using literature. Literature is the foundation from which we derive our very existence, as it holds generations of information from every branch of knowledge in existence. However, there is no reason to stop there, I will demonstrate through my teaching that students shouldn’t be underestimated. Every student that enters our school grounds has become a future candidate that will achieve greatness. As a future teacher, I see students have great potential, so I won’t be wasting their talent and skills. I shall work on their skills to prepare them to become professionals. I will make sure to develop them to face bigger and more challenging problems they might face in the future. To accomplish my goal I will create a fun and engaging classroom where they are open to speaking their mind through their classroom work assignments. After all, it is important to remember that even as teachers, we never stop being learners as well. We must allow our students to be free, so we can learn as much from them as they expect to learn from us. This is why for reading, I will find a way to grab their attention using what they find interesting and use it as a tool to teach them. As for speaking and writing, it will be done in a way that makes them feel free to express their deepest thoughts. This will create a strong bond between the student and learning, but most importantly to themselves. Education isn’t all just about gaining information, but also about finding who you are inside. Only then will you come to truly appreciate learning. The objective is to get their attention in class, so they understand the significance of education, so when they leave the classroom, they personally search and crave to obtain more knowledge. That way they become their own teacher and the circle for humanity to continue teaching, learning, expanding, and evolving never stops.
