Evaluation in Secondary Level

 In this project, I had to create a multi-genre portfolio for my evaluation class. The purpose of the multi-genre portfolio is to create multiple different assignments meant to test the students' different skills. This is a very organized work for assessing the students. I find it important for the teacher to choose the reading accordingly depending on the classroom they end up having since the multi-genre portfolio deals with stories. The multi-genre portfolio really works when you want the students to gain a full understanding of the reading and at the same time practice their skills. The students will practice their writing and reading skills by having to analyze and interpret the text they read to complete the assignments. The multi-genre portfolio makes you brainstorm different ideas when creating the assignments you will be adding to the portfolio. Having to create a checklist or a rubric for each assignment added to the portfolio was kinda difficult because you have to make sure they align with what you want assess. There were points where I struggled to come up with a creative assignment that could help the student improve and find it fun at the same time. I believe that the assignments should bring some enjoyment to the student, so I tried to do it by making them draw something. I still believe I can improve from this work and make something even better. However, this being my first time creating a portfolio, I feel proud of my work. I still need to work on creating more creative work that can be affective in assessing the student and helping them improve their skills.
